May blossoms
Pictures from my post - May blossoms

Welcome May!  This is a wonderful time of the year, as the days grow longer and the air fills with the scent of blooming flowers, my garden is starting to come alive with lilac, bluebells, clematis and wisteria.  The April showers here on Dartmoor were relentless, odd little peeks of sunshine but sadly too few and far between.  My hubby is dodging raindrops and very kindly building me a beautiful barn down in the garden.  I chose the design, I've always longed for an American barn, painted red with a big barn star.  He has worked so hard on it, not quite finished yet but will be by the time the warmer months arrive.  I will post pictures of the building process to share with you.

It's so nice to have these little longer days to think about crafting and sewing....what I'm going to make for the store, help to design with my homespun team and thinking about what to buy for the store.  Each day is a new beginning full of endless possibilities and I don't know about you, but some days I don't know where to start!

As the long weekend approaches, the first of the bank holidays, I've just topped up all of my homespun fabrics in the store making sure there's plenty of stock for you.  I hope to spend more time in the garden if the weather permits, otherwise, I'll happily immerse myself in my workroom surrounded by my large pile of unfinished quilts and projects!

What are your plans for the weekend?  I'd love to hear about them – please feel free to share on my social media or email me, I really do enjoy hearing from you.

I'm excited to discover what this month will bring and look forward to welcoming you to the store. Whether you're an experienced crafter or just starting out, there's a place and something for you at The Homespun Loft.

Here's to a May filled with creativity and the cosy charm of the homespun life!

Until next time dear friends

Warm hugs, Charlotte xx
